This year, the seaside town of Pylos will host the Tsiklitiria Festival on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, at 18:00. Inspired by Olympic champion Konstantinos Tsiklitiras, this unique event will bring together athletes, volunteers, and visitors in a celebration of sports and heritage overlooking Navarino Bay.

Whether you want to compete, volunteer, or simply enjoy the spectacle, the Tsiklitiria 2025 is more than a sports festival it’s a living tribute to Olympic spirit and local culture.

Who Was Konstantinos Tsiklitiras?

Born in Pylos, Tsiklitiras (1888–1913) became one of Greece’s first Olympic champions:

  • 1912 Stockholm Olympics – Gold in standing long jump, Bronze in standing high jump

He was also a patriot, volunteering in the Balkan Wars, and although he passed away young, his legacy endures. His family home in Pylos today serves as a museum and cultural center.
